A Shout Out For Beta Testers!

Filed under: General, Mindi, News, Shrapnel Games, Staff — Mindi @ 6:49 pm

Shrapnel Games is looking for more beta testers! With many exciting games in beta test and several more coming up, we are looking to expand our beta test group. Our beta tests cover a variety of genres and types of gaming with the majority being computer games. Time commitments vary depending on what beta test opportunities you chose to accept. We do ask that all applicants be dedicated to helping our development team create a top notch game. You will be an integral part of the Shrapnel team helping us find bugs and improve games before they hit the market.

Participants in Beta Tests will get their name in the credits of the game upon completion. So if you have some extra time and would like to be part of our Beta Test Team, please send an email including your name, email address and a short statement about why you think you would make a good beta tester.

  1. I have played numerous mmorpgs, also many first person shooters(quake3 arena, Jedi knights 2, Everquest,Shadowbane,Final fantasy 11, City of heros) I catch on to games easy and progres quickly. I’m mainly posting this because i am intersted in what type of games you have open for beta testing.

  2. FPS’s and MMORPGS’s are not normally our genre of games; however, we do have a variety of other types of gaming. Unfortunately this beta tester call has been closed for now due to the huge reponse we got in the first week of this announcement. Any future announcements of additional beta test opportunities will be posted to this blog.

  6. Hi I am a 35 year old mother of 2, I have worked in customer service for 10 years before returning to education and completing a drama degree with an award of 2.1. At the moment I find I am at a loose end and spending more and more time on the PC. I was a member on Runscape for 2 years and am currently a member of Sims Online however I am always looking for new games to try out. I generally spend about 4 or 5 hours a day playing online games and feel I have a lot to offer as a beta tester. (Also it would mean I dont have to feel quite so guilty for spending so much of the day playing games)

    hoping to hear from you
    Julie

  7. I’m 23 years old and am studying a degree in Sociology. I am an avid gamer playing all types of games. First-person shooters, adventures, RTS, RPGs, platformers and arcade/ puzzle games.

Gaming is a diverse hoby for me and I would love to be one the first people to test a game before its released. I have a keen eye for details in all aspects of a game and can provide much useful comments and reports on any game I am given the pleasure of testing.

I believe I can make my own small contribution to game development by testing any new games that you develop, my knowledge of computers and software is also adept, I am adept with technical jargon as well as style, structures and forms of game design. Above all the fun factor counts!! I am eagerly looking forward for any test you’ll have open in the future! Thank You!

  9. Hello, I am a 25 year old stay at home mom of two. for downtime, I play games. I would love to beta test games, as a way to unwind, and also as a way to see what is out there. I am always looking for new things, and I think it is important to see that games are worth the money they cost, for one, and also are worth the time to play them prior to buying. I would love to test them, and would be great at it as I am overly honest, and free with my opinions. thank you!

  11. I am a 30 year old stay at home father for the last 4 weeks. All I do is sit and play games, we go through a layoff period in the town I live in every Christmas seaon. My girlfriend is a nurse so we can afford it, anyways I love playing games and have used just about every console on the market. I have a high end computer that I built myself so I have hardware knowledge. I would enjoy a chance to beta test as i find the job market getting smaller out here. I live to play and play to live, so do both my boys. I would appreciate any chance to be a part of a game that is being developed and learn how the developement process works,

    Thank You,
    Brandon Benbow

  13. Im 24. My favorite thing to do is play video games. I really want to be a full time tester, but i have to get experience first. when I get home from work, I go staight to the computer for at least 2-4 hrs a day. I know that if I play a game, I can give you back a detailed report of my findings.

    thanks

  15. Hi. I’m from Spain and I’m 26 years old. I am finishing my studies in Computer Science and working for an information technology company as a programmer.

I’ve been playing videogames since I can remember. I usually spend at least 4 hours a day playing videogames on different platforms such as PC, Nintedo DS, PS2, Wii, Xbox 360.

Strategy is one of my favorite genres, and I love talking about videogames and their strenghts and weaknesses with my friends. I think it’s not all invented yet and I love games that innovate in any sense.

I’ve also played board games and trading card games such as Carcassone, Risk, Magic: The Gathering.

I think my experience as a player may be useful in game development.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
